Australian powerhouse Uberjak’d departs from his usual sound and baffles everyone with new experiment “Rverse”.
Hailing from Adelaide, Australia, Ben Grzywacz first appeared on the scene in 2011 and since then he carved out quite a career to be proud of, being one of the main players that helped thrust Melbourne Bounce onto the global stage – along with Will Sparks, Reece Low, Krunk and more. Since those days, his unique perspective has morphed into a psytrance inspired sound, but always true to his roots and to where he started.
After starting out in Bone Idle Records, he – like many others – slowly built up his legacy. 2012 was his breakthrough year, with releases on Hussle Records, Laidback Luke’s Mixmash and even Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak. Ben carried on full steam ahead in the coming years, becoming a titan of the industry, with tracks like an iconic remix of TJR’s “Bounce Generation”, “The Moment” – released on Dim Mak – and collabs with Reece Low, GLOWINTHEDARK, Laidback Luke, Deorro, Dimatik and many more. In 2018, he took a major step in any artist’s career and launched his own JAKD Recordings label, the platform in which he introduces us to his latest single “Rverse”.
The track starts out with an eerie pad, followed by a sax synth. Bigredcap’s obnoxious lyrics kick in, coupled nicely with the build up, climaxing in a filthy dubstep drop. The beat carries on throughout the breakdown, with Bigredcap’s vocals leading us through the far more familiar Uberjak’d hard hitting beats that we love. Overall, a great effort by Ben, coming out of his confort zone to deliver something a bit different. Hope we get to hear more experiments like this in a possible album someday…
