This past weekend was an historic one for hardstyle fans: for the first time ever, an hardstyle artist – Belgium’s Coone – performed on the Tomorrowland mainstage.
Coone is one of the most legendary producers in the hardstyle world today. Born as Koen Bauweraerts in the small town of Turnhout, Belgium; Coone has been on the forefront of hardstyle music for years. Since his first release back in 2002, he has released songs on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak and Smash The House; as well as on his own label – Dirty Workz – which is now the biggest label for hardstyle artists. Together with Headhunterz, Wildstylez and a few others, Coone is an undeniable great in the dance music world.
All of this made him one of the lucky few to have bragging rights and be fortunate enough to perform on the biggest dance music stage in the world; an incredible and surely historic day.
Coone has already thanked his fans and hardstyle fanatics throughout the world with a photo and a small thank you note on his social media pages:
“WE CHANGED THE GAME. For years I’ve been trying to bring hardstyle to the mainstage of Tomorrowland. Yesterday, it finally happened thanks to all the hard work of the artists, agencies, managements and of course our dedicated hardstyle fans. Together we won this spot on the mainstage line-up. July 22nd 2018 is the day that I can proudly say we did it! Yesterday we wrote history. Thank you Tomorrowland for joining hardstyle!”
His set isn’t online yet (as of writing this article), but it won’t be long until such a remarkable feat is uploaded.
We here at Wide Future congratulate all of the hardstyle fans and artists, as well as Coone; and we hope to see another hardstyle performance on the mainstage of Tomorrowland 2019!
