On this week’s edition of the Imminent Radioshow, we’ve invited one of the hottest prospects in the Portuguese dance music scene: give a warm welcome to Napher!
This proud northerner hails from Porto, and is a very technically gifted artist. Hot of the presses with his latest single Heart, a stunningly touching progressive house banger reminiscent of the 2014 golden days released on EDMHouseNetwork, Napher (real name Fernando Couto) accepted our invitation to celebrate on the 31st edition of the Imminent Radioshow. We asked him the usual questions and this is what he had to say!
How was your start as an artist?
I started producing around 7 years ago and released a couple of tracks by myself on Soundcloud and Youtube. Then I took a break and locked myself on studio trying to create my own style and improve on it.
My biggest inspirations right now are new talents like Seth Hills, DOBER and Ayor. But I’m always influenced by big names like Nicky Romero, Martin Garrix and Dyro, as it to be expected.
What obstacles have you faced, and how did you surpass them?
Mostly producer stuff, like always having a mix that is clean and powerful at the same time, and creating my own sound design. Nowadays, that’s really important to make the difference. So I started to learn from videos and tutorials of experienced producers and I tried to integrate that on my production workflow. With time and dedication, it became a natural process whenever I start a new idea for a track, and I’m able to improve more and more. I think that it’s really important to study what you want to do and become capable of defining yourself on your music.
