The big man of the Triple Six Records label, the belgian Hardcore head DRS, and one of its latest signings Rick Haartmans, known in the Uptempo/Hardcore scene as Irradiate have joined forces for their second collab, this time for No Way Out EP that brings to the fans of heavyweight beats a pack of two fresh tunes.
The first track is My Cage, its beginning might be surprising for DRS’ followers due to the smooth vibes that a soft voice gives to the mix, however, it doesn’t take much time for a sample of Conor McGregor’s famous lines “[…] On the count of three I want everybody in this arena to scream […]” (also used for Miss K8’s Temper) to bring chaos and deliver a heavy kick to your eardrums.
In an overall view, you can find an interesting mix of a gentle woman’s voice, McGregor’s loud vocals and Uptempo’s massive kicks.
Moving on to the second piece, My Soul, we can find once again a slow beginning and, similar to what happens in My Cage, you will listen to a more melodic version of Uptempo Hardcore that also manages to combine the rough sounds, that the true Hard heads are looking for, with some catchy synths and, unlike this EP’s prologue, the voice of one of the most requested MC’s for Triple Six Records’ music, Madsin.
The EP is clearly a fine combination of these producers’ styles, from Irradiate’s interest for bringing a little more work to the leads and the synths that give life to them and DRS’ dark, yet energetic atmosphere.
