We’ve got some cool sounds this week, as we have a house scene veteran: from the early 1990’s til now, we’re graced with Funkerman’s vibes on EP.46!

Allow us to introduce the legend that is Ardie Van Beek, or, as you might know him, DJ Funkerman. This man is an absolute deity in house, and has been globe-trotting the world for more than 2 decades, with humble beginnings all the way back in the 90’s with hip hop and R&B. Ardie is from Breda, Netherlands – a city which nurtured the rise of other big players in the game like Tiesto, Hardwell, W&W, DANNIC, and many more.

Funkerman’s progression was natural: after honing his skills in other genres, he clicked with the sweet grooves and vibes of house music, and began DJing professionally, as the doors slowly opened for him: from residencies, job at a record store and more. In 2003, Ardie, Raf Jansen and Fedde le Grand unleashed Flamingo Recordings, an imprint which still today pioneers and trailblazes the path for up and coming artists. But this was still just the beginning of a long-standing and illustrious career, which has seen Funkerman release tracks on the likes of Defected, Toolroom, Armada, Pacha Recordings and more. More recently, Funkerman remixed Yoav’s One Nature, following a great year of 2019. So naturally, we wanted him on our radioshow, to fully showcase his plethora of sounds!

Ardie accepted and brought a baggage of unsual and relaxing sounds from Julien Jabre, Silvano Del Gado, Dirty Channels and naturally a multitude of Funkerman remixes and flips, all wrapped around a delicious 58min mix. Enjoy EP. 46 with the one, the only: DJ Funkerman!
