In this week’s episode of our Imminent Radioshow, we are delighted to bring you PEACE MAKER!, a young Portuguese DJ and producer whose style is defined by his terrific bass lines, euphoric melodies filled and above all, unbelievably well composed tracks and unique sounds.
“How was your start as an artist?”
So, my music journey is a bit strange… I think I’ve always had a “connection” with music. It all started when I was 12/13 and I won a Creative 256mb Mp3 by calling to a TV show, by the time my music taste was all around the Hip-Hop, R’n’B and commercial that was “pumping” back then. During my eight grade I started to get heavier, listening to Metallica, Megadeath, Slipknot, etc. At that point some of colleagues listened to Psy-Trance and some other genres of electronic dance music. Back then it was horrible, and I hated electronic music but in 2010everything changed when Skrillex dropped “My name is Skrillex” ep. One of my best friends showed the ep to me and my mind went off! A couple months ago that friend bought a Native Instruments Maschine and we start to make some shitty beats and mapping the Maschine with Traktor to start to understand how to mix tracks and how to “DJ”. Years passed and my music passion kept growing year by year, by my age of 20 I joined ETIC for the “Electronic Music Production” class. I wasn’t sure what kind of music I wanted to produce, I’ve produced Drum & Bass, then Minimal Techno and Future House, then I arrived my final stage and I decided that I wanted to make House music, from the heaviest kind of Bass House to the groovy and melodic Tech House till today I haven’t change!
“Who’s your biggest inspiration?”
My biggest inspirations have got to be Chris Lake, Malaa, Tchami and Skrillex, the reason for this being none other than the fact that these are artists who I’ve been following for quite some time and whose productions I find amazing.
“Which obstacles have you faced along the way and how did you surpass them?”
The biggest obstacle (in my opinion) is to have your friends and family telling you can’t do it, or you’ll never achieve it, the only way to overcome this insecure feeling is by feeding your motivation and ambition with these non-motivational messages from your friends and family. Like a wise man said: “Work in silence and let your success be your noise”
In case you couldn’t tell, his wide range of production genres allow him to freely explore the sounds he uses on his tracks, giving them a unique touch.
Featuring tracks by, Malaa, Sikdope, Fisher, and a handful of exclusive ID’s, PEACE MAKER! was eager to impress the world with this very exciting episode of the Imminent Radioshow!
