Last month we had the opportunity to interview this phenomenal artist and long and behold, here he is, Pete Kingsman, as our third guest of the Imminent Radioshow! After the success of his recent tracks, “Someone” and “Turn of the Light“, Pete finds his name as one of Portugal’s most listened artists, and after hearing this guest mix and all of his work, you can understand why.
“How was your start as an artist?”
I started DJing when I was 14 years old at a local club in Lisbon. I was so young that I wasn’t even old enough to enter the club and had to hide if security came asking about me. It was my first experience as a DJ and allowed me to learn not only how to read crowds but to work with different equipments. I also had the pleasure to share the booth with several DJs who taught me everything I know.
“Which obstacles have you faced along the way and how did you surpass them?”
Being in the music business is definitely not easy and it demands a lot of discipline and mental strength as you need to deal not only with a lot of rejection but other people’s negative feedback. But honestly if you spend your time and energy working and perfecting your craft and doing what you love instead of thinking about how to please everyone else, you’ll be happier, more successful and it’ll help relieve the stress and anxiety that comes with this industry. There are no straight lines in life, and we as musicians need to understand that the ups and downs are part of the process and that no matter what you do and how you do it, there will always be people who don’t like you or your music.
With an intro so amazing it makes you feel like you’re in Tomorrowland, PeteKingsman brings the likes of Garmiani, Martin Garrix, Blinders and Rawtek, aswell as some of his best productions, in an action packed episode of the Imminent Radioshow.
Be on the lookout for he has a lot in store for all of us! In the meantime, rejoice, to the sound of Pete Kingsman!
