The Portuguese DJ/Producer is on fire right now, releasing two tracks back to back, with “Nova” being his latest and a return to Zerothree.
There seems to be nothing that can stop Pete K. The Portuguese DJ/Producer – real name Pedro Caldeira – is one of those artists that presses all the right buttons. The Lisbon native, who grew into the dance music world shaped by the sounds of Sasha, John Digweed, Jeremy Olander and Eric Prydz, and since he first started producing, he hasn’t stopped showcasing his worth. Although his preference for anything Progressive House is noticeable, the youngster has dabbled into the underground sounds like Tech House and Techno, but he has never disappointed in any of those genres and his productions always shine.
We covered Pete’s other release before, an incredible track called “Soul Heaven”, a collab with Al Sharif and Stevie Krash released on Kryder’s Kryteria Records, featuring all around positive vibes and that all important Groove. Now, Pete K goes back to his prefered progressive sound with “Nova”.
He’s known as the “portuguese Eric Prydz”, and although that’s quite a big burden, “Nova” shows that resemblance perfectly. The track starts out with the kick and percussion being filtered in, followed closely by magical plucks and the main melody in the background. A seamless blend of thumping kicks and shiver-inducing melodies ensues throughout the rest of the track, carrying on the vibes. Overall, another stellar song from Pete K, once again making justice to the “portuguese Pryda” nickname, and showing the dance music world what Portugal has to offer. Look out, he’s only getting started.
