Dutch duo Firebeatz has once again released another banger entitled “Bounce”, released on Oliver Heldens’ Heldeep Records.
The dutch duo have been killing it over the past few years. With releases on every major label you can think of, 3 Gold Records, a handful of tracks with more than 10 Million Spotify plays, and collabs with the likes of Martin Garrix and Chocolate Puma, Firebeatz have consistently stayed on top over the last couple of years, managing to keep themselves in a respectable position on the prestigious DJMAG Top 100. Last year, the duo composed of Tim Smulders and Jurre van Doeselaar joined forces with fellow dutch duo DubVision to form the supergroup METAFO4R, performing together for the first time at EDC Las Vegas 2018. So far in 2019, Firebeatz have released two other tracks, with Bounce being the third one.
On the other corner, we have dutch-born and bred DJ/Producers Pexem and Schella. Pexem has been making music since he was 15 and has released tracks like “New Funk Sound” and “I Can Feel U” together with Schella. Schella started playing piano around the age of 12 and downloaded his first music production program when he was 17. Influenced by some older UK music like Grime, 2step, and Drum&Bass, Schella loves to showcase his versatility in his productions.
With “Bounce”, the four dutch DJ/Producers wanted to create a phat club anthem, and so they did. The track starts out with a simple house-y intro and a background vocal, quickly followed by a well made build-up which in turn climaxes in the thumping drop, with the fattest bass and a gritty bassline. The breakdown grabs a robotic vocal and harmonic arps to create a very futuristic, kind of cyberpunk vibe. The second drop cranks the grit of the bassline to 11 and builds on it by adding claps and other percussion. Overall, yet another stellar effort by Firebeatz, and a stepping stone to greatness by Schella and Pexem.
