It’s that time of the year again where the anthem track for Sunburn Goa is revealed and this time, it was Mariana Bo turn.
Since 2015, the festival has had some sort of anthem track, and for the past 4 years, the responsibility fell upon KSHMR and Marnik’s shoulders, as they released great tracks like “Bazaar”, “Mandala” and “Shiva”. However, this year it was Mariana Bo’s turn.
The Mexican DJ/Producer started out in her bedroom making music, mixing dance music with her classical influences. Over time, Mariana found her “mojo”, and her sound, and since then, she has released tracks on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s Smash The House, KSHMR’s own Dharma and even Spinnin Records. With a powerful style with big thumping kicks and catchy melodies, Mariana shows great promise for the future.
As such, it was up to her to produce this year’s Sunburn Goa anthem, and she did not disappoint. The track is called “Shankara”, which refers to hindu god Shiva, and it is distributed by KSHMR’s Dharma. It starts out with an ethnic Indian vocal, which quickly transitions to the aggressive melody, followed up by the huge psy-trance drop. The breakdown repeats the intro of the track, and the same aggressive synths follow, but are now incorporated into the second drop, which hits so hard your brain is likely to melt. Another hard-hitting anthem by Mariana Bo, which definitely does not disappoint and stays true to the legacy left by KSHMR and Marnik.
