Finland just announced the DJ and Producer Darude as their representative for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
The song Darude will perform is not yet decided – the producer will release 3 songs that will compete in the UMK –Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu; In English: New Music Competition – a contest that will decide which music will represent Finland.
The songs will feature the singer Sebastian Rejman – from the band The Giant Leap – and will be released worldwide on February 8th, 15th and 22nd, and the final song to represent the country will be chosen on March 2nd.
Darude – whose real name is Ville Virtanen – became worldwide known with his track “Sandstorm”, launched in 1999. Since then, the 43 year old producer has released 4 studio albums, won multiple awards – such as 3 Finnish Grammy Awards- and played in clubs and festivals around the world.
The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual contest – which completes 64 editions in 2019- that includes several countries from different continents competing with a song. This year’s edition will happen in Tel Aviv, Israel.
