With a Facebook and Youtube set by Joris Voorn – DJ and producer “from home” – to celebrate the moment, the organization of the Awakenings Festival, one of the largest techno festival/promoter in the world, revealed the names that will play in the next edition of a festival that has “awaken” the city of Amsterdam since 1997.
The 19th edition of the festival will take place in the Spaarnwoude park, located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, from July 29 to 30, and has a luxury lineup at the level of what is considered by many to the best techno music festival in the planet. From the likes of experients Ben Klock, Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills or Ricardo Villalobos to young industry stars such as Amelie Lens, Boris Brejcha, Charlotte de Witte, KiNK or Patrice Bäumel, from heavier and more aggressive styles such as Dax J or Enrico Sangiuliano to a more melodious and chill recordings like Adriatique, Kölsch or Tale of Us, in a lineup that integrates all subgenera of techno as well as house, being a lineup for all tastes of fans. Names like Ion Ludwig, Enzo Siragusa, Oracy, FJAAK, Colin Benders and Claire Morgan will make their debut on the main stage. Among the most notable absences are the names of Carl Cox, Len Faki, Nicole Moudaber or Solomun.
The organization expects about 80,000 visits along the two days of a festival that will feature more than 100 sets/live acts, divided by 8 stages. In this year’s edition, Awakenings will host a stage with the aim of revealing the new generations of artists.
Before concluding, it’s important to mention that there are the two Portuguese ambassadors at the festival: Lewis Fautzi and J. Fernandes, who will take the stage on the 29th – in the case of J. Fernandes, in a back-to-back set with DJ Rush.
