One of dance music’s most seasoned veterans, Dirty South, released a true masterpiece of an album called “Darko” in his Phazing label.

South’s name and journey is no stranger to anyone. Born in Belgrade, Dragan Roganovic moved to Australia at the age of 13 where his DJ career started. He played around with some old hi-fi system and turntables, and this eventually led him to the music production world. Since his first record as Dirty South, he racked up many awards and nominations, as well as various world-class collabs, having his name on tracks like “Open Your Heart with Axwell & Rudy”, “How Soon Is Now feat. David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso & Julie Mcknight” (a personal favourite of mine), and progressive anthem “City of Dreams feat. Alesso and Ruben Haze

Now, South returns with a very high quality album, showcasing all of his talent as a producer. The album – called “Darko” –  has 8 tracks, all inspired by the melodic house/techno-ish sound he has been releasing over the past few years on his label Phazing. They feature a similar melodic vibe – based on pianos and euphoric synths – whilst maintaining the album’s dark vibe like the name implies. Overall, “Darko” is an outstanding piece of artistry by Dirth South in what is sure to be one of the albums of the year.
