This is not the first time, but let’s explain it slowly. It’s been a while since the organization and production of the Ultra Miami have been dealing with situations similar to this but so far it has always been winning.
Well, the Ultra Music Festival is one of the biggest stages of Dance Music – and not only – and has its biggest edition in Miami. Despite its success and the amount of people it gathers in the city, the organization and residents are not always in agreement. The inhabitants have complained for some years about the noise and annoyances that the festival also brings.
For now the situation has been released. Voting on whether or not Ultra Miami stays at its current location – Bayfront Park – has been postponed until September. Victoria Mendez, a lawyer for the case and representative of the city of Miami, called on the contract between the organization and the city not to be finalized. Originally the contract would be for 5 years and Ultra MF is obliged to pay 2 million dollars a year to the agency that preserves the park.
Until 2005 and from 2012 to this year the festival is staying at Bayfront Park, however consecutive complaints have not been making the whole process easier and a transition can still happen in the 2019 edition.
More news will come in September.
