One month ago we received the shocking news about Avicii’s death and now his family has decided to continue his legacy by allowing the release of an album of previously unreleased music made by the swedish DJ/producer.
In 2016, he had made the tough decision to retire from touring and perfoming, but Avicii remained to work hard in the studio. Apparently, he had finished nearly 200 songs and planned to release a follow-up EP for his ‘Avīci’ series. Now, according to the swedish outlet Aftonbladet, the family has “met with record company representatives and partners” and the president of Avicii’s former label Geffen Records has confirmed that the label have plans to release the album by the end of the year. Also, it is not yet known who will produce the album.
Besides that, the family has released a statement regarding the funeral plans, saying that the funeral will be private and only for his family and closest friends:
“There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii. The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim. They kindly ask media to respect this. There is no additional information forthcoming.”
