Although last weekend was marked by the death of Avicii, there is also another news that has left fans of electronic music quite discouraged: Mightyfools have announced that they will withdraw from the music world.
The duo, composed by Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer, has been together since 2007, and since that time their songs have marked the generation they represent. Their sounds are characterized by having more breaks and groove than melodies.
Over the years they have been improving and Mightyfools had already released songs in some of the biggest labels in the world, such as Revealed, Dim Mak and Spinnin Records. With this evolution it was possible to perceive that the duo was getting more and more mature.
However, Mighyfools announced last Thursday that they will put an end to the duo, as Andy is currently undergoing a depression, which does not allow him to devote himself completely to music. The fact that they need to travel a lot does not improve the condition of the duo and that is why they made this decision.
” We are grateful for all your support in the past 11 years. It’s a long time, some of you have been with us since day one. But it’s time to say goodbye. It was a tough decision but we feel like we’re at the top and that our work is done.”
