There are a number of events in a year that are sure to break the internet. The New Year’s Eve countdown, the Champions League final, the occasional eclipse and, amazingly, the Coachella line-up release.
It is, probably, the most well-known and well-rounded festival in the world. It ranges from the commercial pop-rock one has to inevitably listen to our beloved dance music. In the most recent editions we have been gifted marvellous cards as the dance music phenomenon has been expanding and this year is no different. Even though it is headlined by the world-famous The Weeknd, Beyoncé and Eminem, there is a lot of dance music names in there.
The first day may be the cream of the crop as far different genres of dance music go. Maceo Plex continues his rise to stardom, Kygo comes back, Black Coffee reinforces his strong to 2017 and carries on, Alison Wonderland and Rezz continue to show that women also run the place and Alan Walker makes his usual appearance. All of these are accompanied by Mexican Deorro and live-act performers Cash-Cash to form a splendid first day of festival (and beginning of second weekend).
The second day may take a step back related to dance music but it has two strong, rising names in The Black Madonna and Party Favor. The third day comes back strong as it features strong names in the current dance scene. Illenium has been one of the best dance scene performers of the last few years and his rise hasn’t been a secret. The same can be said, even though in a smaller scale, for San Holo who is set to play on both weekends after a successful tour. Motor City Drum Ensemble makes his appearance and Joseph Capriati is also on the card.
Coachella 2018 is set to have two weekends of festival from April 13-15 and 20-22.
