On the 23th of September a few thousand people passed in Água de Pena (Machico), underneath the airport of Madeira Island, to attend one of the biggest events in recent years on the island: MTV Insomnia Madeira Dance Fest’17! This great party had the production of “Café do Teatro”, television coverage of MTV and great performances by artists like Kura, Jay Hardway and Yves V. This festival started at 8 PM with the Warm-Up of DJ Sil (DJ from Porto Santo). At 10 PM the well-known rapper Piruka, a phenomenon of Portuguese hip-hop, took control of the stage. Later, around 11:30 PM, DJ Nélio Fabrício (Resident DJ of “Café do Teatro”) prepared everyone for the next performances.

Jay Hardway came from holland to give an impressive show that started at 1 AM and ended at 2:30 AM.
The various collaborations with Martin Garrix: “Wizard” and “Spotless”, “Insomnia” (1995 version) by Faithless, “Champion Sound” by Nicky Romero and Teamworx, and Golden Pinneaple’s beautiful mashup with the voice of Chris Martin (Coldplay – “Adventure Of A Lifetime”) were the great moments of his set.

Kura returned to the island 4 years later, for the 4th time, and gave the best of himself without any doubt.
The crowd went wild from 2:30 AM to 4:00 AM with a set full of incredible beats like “Makhor”, “Loki”, “Calavera”, “Police” and more. This set was like a journey through Kura’s career and there was even time for a new Kura song, that has not yet been released.

The Belgian Yves V was the last artist to take the stage and brought a bit of the vibe of the festival that is resident: Tomorrowland!
This performance was enough to keep most of the people who went to the event until 5:30 AM/6 AM. This is the second time that Yves V comes to Madeira to delight the ravers with the best of progressive and electro house.

In a general analysis, it can be said that the event was a success because there were many people present and big names on stage.
The stage had the necessary requirements for a party of this level, wich includes: LED panels, lasers, good sound quality and much CO2. These are three most played tracks of the festival: “Triple Six” by Curbi, “Calabria” Remix by Firebeatz and “Waist Time” by Diplo and Autoerotique. According to what was said by Café do Teatro, this festival comes back in 2018! News coming soon!
