It is no longer “Shape of You” by British lad Ed Sheeran the most heard song by the Brazilians through the platform Spotify. Since the launch of the streaming platform in the country, the conclusions have dictated a small change in the preferences of the millions of Brazilian users. The culture of Funk and Sertanejo has been increasingly sharing the podium with other musical genres.

“Shape of You”, which had previously surpassed the single “Sorry” by Justin Bieber, lost the number 1 for “Hear Me Now“, a world-wide success from Brazilian Dj Alok in collaboration with Bruno Martini and Zeeba.

Alok’s Brazilian Bass accumulated close to 68.3 million streams (in Brazil), while Ed Sheeran’s viral “only” had 68 million. The difference is short but the 25 year old DJ and producer took advantage over the opponent once the track got to the top 10 daily of the Spotify platform.

It is the first time that a national production reaches the top of the list.
