There’s been a great buzz lately and to ask the question: ‘Is Trance back?’
Many artists answer that it was never really gone in the first place, it has always been here. I also agree with this statement, most of us don’t really see it because it might not have be the so called ‘golden age’ it once was, when ATB climbed the charts and Tiësto performs at the Olympic Games opening ceremony, the Greek ‘Parade of the Athletes’.
But lately there’s been a strong comeback of artist which “left” Trance a few years back and tried to experiment different genres and projects, many of those had a larger success and still are presenting new projects or simply the comeback of alias that have been sided for years now. We first noticed this in 2015 when the Trance Legends Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten revived old projects like Gouryella and Rising Star. That same year we saw the results of the comeback of those projects completely conquering the Top 3 Trance Tunes of the Year, on the 3rd Place – Armin van Buuren pres. Rising Star feat. Betsie Larkin – Safe Inside You, 2nd Place the Rising Star Remix of Stardust (a collaboration between Armin van Buuren and Jean-Michel Jarre) and on the 1st place – Ferry Corsten pres. Gouryella – Anahera!
During the following years we’ve witness more and more artists giving Trance a chance again, also something historic happened recently when ‘Saving Light’ by Gareth Emery and STANDERWICK featuring HALIENE, hit the #1 spot on the global Beatport Charts, a chart known to be mainly dominated by Tech House. Still probably the biggest of the Highlights yet of this happening is the probable ‘A State Of Trance’ Stage line-up at Ultra Music Festival this year: Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Andrew Rayel, David Gravell, Ruben de Ronde, Vini Vici and… wait for it…

Trance was never really gone, but it certainly has been on the rise lately!
