To celebrate the 20th edition of the festival and as part of the festivities the Dutch promoters set up a poll to understand what would be the best Techno track of all time, with more that 16,000 votes were recorded.

The results are now out, with no surprises it was Jeff Mills‘ “The Bells”, which is surprising at it has become a classic and staple of to what is best done in Techno, in a close second it was none other than “Subzero” by Ben Klock and Enrico Sangiuliano’s “Moon Rocks”, Sam Paganini’s “Rave”, and DJ Rolando’s “Knights of The Jaguar” all completed the top 5.

Names like Oxia, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick and Laurent Garnier managed to sneak into the top 10, where the like of Bjarki, Green Velvet, Maceo Plex, Joey Beltram and Age of Love all managed to cap at the top 20.

Awakening has compiled a Spotify Playlist (End of the Article) with all of the 20 best tracks, the entire list of the 100 best techno tracks of all time, will be revealed in a special book, dedicated to the festival’s 20th birthday. Named “Awkenings – 20 years of Techno” it will be a 600-page publication out on April 13.
