For the fifth consecutive edition, Boom Festival was recognized with the “Outstanding Greener Festival Award”.

The Idanha-a-Nova – Portugal – based festival that takes place every 2 years, this year received once again the international prize given to festivals that most stand out in this industry through its sustainability practices, being one of the only 2 festivals to which this highest distinction was given this year!

In a statement written by Artur Mendes, from the festival organization you can read:

“We are happy to get the award once again, for the 5th time in a row the Greener Festival auditors recognized Boom with the Outstanding prize. It is the only eco award for festivals that we give credibility as there is a team visiting the festivals and this year the evaluation was more thorough and detailed; Boom is totally independent, no sponsors, and engaging in sustainability is made strictly with our own resources and an amazing contribution of our fabulous Boomers. On the other hand, we are using the Boom experience to reforest the Boomland and act on many fronts such as charity, on the integration of people, and positively affect the surrounding area of the festival which is one of the poorest in Portugal with unemployment rate of 16% and more than 50% pensioners. We dedicate this award to all Boomers.”

In addition, the organization was invited to integrate the discussion panel of the “Green Events & Innovations”, a conference that will take place in March, at London, to discuss the sustainability in the musical industry and events.
