Viceland has just announced its first-ever scripted series “What Would Diplo Do?” based on the life and experiences of the American DJ himself.

The show was created by Kevin Kusatsu, co-founder of Diplo’s management firm TMWRK, and Ben Weiss, who oversees creation and distribution for Paradigm Talent Agency. The series was written by Van Der Beek and directed by Brandon Dermer, who has previously done music videos for artists including Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Panic! At The Disco, and Every Time I Die. Dermer, Kusatsu, Diplo, and Van Der Beek are the program’s executive producers.

 “[The promo] was fun and that was it. I never thought it would lead to a series.”

 The series will premiere later this year with six episodes, The short, also directed by Dermer, will serve as the show’s pilot. Check it out below to get a feel for What Would Diplo Do?
