After announcing on his official website that he would end his career 2016, Avicii decided to bid farewell to the fans at Ushuaia in Ibiza, today at his very own Ibiza residency!

Avicii produced various tracks that allowed him to reach the most prestigious charts, with tracks such as “Levels”, “Hey Brother” and “Wake Me Up”. Avicii also received various awards throughout 9 long career years, some of which include, the 2013 award for the best Electronic act at the MTV Music Awards, the 2014 Top Dance/Electronic Song at the Billboard awards with the track “Wake Me Up”. Avicii also managed to reach 3rd place in DJ Mag’s top 100 in 2012 and 2013.

Although Avicii is saying goodbye to the stages, he is not giving up on producing as it is a way to communicate with his fans, this is what he had to say:

“But last but not least thank you to every fan who has ever bought a ticket or snuck in, bought a song or downloaded it, commented on posts or hated at them. Its your thoughts and ideas about the music that helped me evolve and I do owe everything I have to you.” … “I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang!”

We hope to see more from Avicii in the near future, as he marked a generation.

Thank you!
